On January 29, led by Yu Xinchen, Vice President of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Wenzhou Committee, the Organizing Committee of Zhejiang (Wenzhou) Metal Materials & Thermal Processing Fair (WMTP), visited Mr. Aliaksandr Sheuchenka, Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Shanghai. This meeting aims to open a new window for local industrial cooperation between China and Belarus under the framework of the "China-Belarus Industrial Cooperation Year".

Both sides reviewed their cooperation and achievements in recent years. As the Guest Country of Honor at the 2nd China (Wenzhou) Int'l Pump & Valve Fair, Belarus supported Wenzhou pump and valve enterprises in market expansion by organizing diplomatic envoys and enterprises to participate in the exhibition, as well as holding supply-demand matchmaking meetings. The 2026 Zhejiang (Wenzhou) Metal Materials & Thermal Processing Fair will be held concurrently as a brand-new section of the 5th China (Wenzhou) Int'l Pump & Valve Fair.

Li Pige, General Manager of Donnor Meta Exhibition (Wenzhou) Co., Ltd., on behalf of the Organizing Committee, briefed Consul General Mr. Aliaksandr Sheuchenka in detail on the preparation progress, positioning of the 2026 Zhejiang (Wenzhou) Metal Materials & Thermal Processing Fair, as well as its vision for promoting the upgrading of regional industries.

Consul General Mr. Aliaksandr Sheuchenka extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He elaborated in depth on Belarus' solid industrial foundation, particularly its strengths in metallurgy, machinery manufacturing, heavy-duty vehicles and other sectors. These industries are highly compatible with Wenzhou's development priorities, including metal materials and high-end equipment.

The two sides also noted a grand historical context: the years 2026 to 2027 have been jointly designated by the heads of state of both countries as the "China-Belarus Industrial Cooperation Year". This provides an unprecedented strategic opportunity and top-level guidance for practical cooperation at the sub-national level. Within this major framework, following in-depth discussions, the two sides reached a landmark consensus: the Zhejiang (Wenzhou) Metal Materials & Thermal Processing Fair, scheduled to be held from October 9 to 11, 2026, will be deeply integrated and co-hosted with the "Belarus-Wenzhou Industrial and Economic Cooperation Week".

The "two-wheel drive" model of the Exhibition and the Cooperation Week will effectively promote industrial chain complementarity and value chain integration between the two countries in such fields as metal materials, heat treatment processes, and high-end equipment manufacturing, translating the grand blueprint of the "China-Belarus Industrial Cooperation Year" into tangible local industrial achievements.

This visit has not only infused distinct international dimensions and national strategic connotations into the organization of the exhibition, but also marked a new stage in which industrial cooperation between the two regions has advanced from conception to substantive implementation.

As the prelude to the "China-Belarus Industrial Cooperation Year" unfolds, the upcoming event in Wenzhou this October carries even greater expectations. We sincerely invite industrial colleagues from around the globe to follow and participate in this annual gathering that integrates global vision, national strategy, and the momentum of local industries!
