Bahagia Steel orders SMS Group Rebar Line to Meet Indonesian Demand
Bahagia Steel, an Indonesian producer of round bar and rebar, has placed an order with SMS Group for a new twin-strand high-speed delivery rebar production line.
The line will be installed at Bahagia’s Kampung Wringinanom site to increase production efficiency and meet the growing demand for construction steel in Indonesia.
The line is capable of producing rebars with diameters from 5.2mm to 32mm at speeds of up to 45m/s.
SMS will supply the mechanical and automation control equipment, including a high-speed shear upstream of the finishing block, a waterbox cooling system, and the twin-strand HSD line.
SMS highlighted that the HSD line is designed for very high production rates, striking a balance between producing very thin products and meeting the high capacity demands of the plant.
They continued that this capability positions the system as a versatile solution for challenging production requirements.
Completion of the project is set for the end of 2026.
