Danieli Installs High-Efficiency Billet Grinding Machine in China
Danieli has received the final acceptance certificate from the installation of a high-efficiency billet grinding machine at Fujian Sanming Steel, China.
The scope of the installation included mechanical equipment, electrical and automation systems.
The supplied unit is the latest-generation Danieli Centro Maskin grinding machine which integrates the HiGrind system.
HiGrind systems enable precise grinding-depth control within +/- 10% tolerance, which optimises yield while ensuring complete defect removal.
The machine is designed for the processing of both billets and blooms with full-skin and corner grinding capabilities.
Furthermore, it is dedicated to the conditioning of special steel products, ensuring surface quality for downstream rolling processes.
The line has a constant grinding-wheel linear speed of 80m/s, grinding trolley speed up to 1.2m/s under load, and positioning accuracy of +/- 1mm.
Equipment installation was completed in December 2025, followed by successful hot commissioning in a single trial and fulfilment of all agreed technical parameters.
Since 1953, Danieli has supplied over 1,000 Centro Maskin’s worldwide.
